- Pre-Separation Air Filtration System: The MS 251 is equipped with a pre-separation air filtration system that delivers longer filter life compared to conventional systems. Incoming air is swirled, ejecting larger particles before routing pre-cleaned air to the air filter through the pre-separator duct.
- Compensator: The carburetor's compensator ensures a consistent fuel-air mixture, even as the air filter becomes clogged. This maintains a constant fuel/air ratio, resulting in consistent engine power. The filter only needs cleaning when a noticeable drop in power occurs.
- Single-Lever Master Control: All essential functions, including start, choke, throttle, and stop, are conveniently operated through a single lever, streamlining the chainsaw's use.
- Side Chain Tensioner: The tensioning screw is located on the side of the chainsaw, accessible through the sprocket cover. This design eliminates the need for direct contact with the sharp saw chain during tension adjustments.
- Ematic Chain Lubrication System: The Ematic chain lubrication system ensures precise and efficient lubrication of the saw chain links and guide bar rails. When used with STIHL OILOMATIC saw chain, it maximizes lubrication, extends chain wear life, and reduces oil consumption. The Ematic system can reduce bar oil consumption by up to 50%.
